AURA vs Onsai
Two hotel AI solutions compared — where are the differences?
Last updated: March 31, 2026
AURA and Onsai take a similar approach: both are AI solutions built specifically for hotels. Both offer phone, email and chat automation. But there are differences in the depth of integration.
AURA is already in use at more than 150 hotels and enables bookings directly in the PMS. Onsai is a promising provider that, in our assessment, is still at an earlier stage of product development.

Similar approach, different priorities
Onsai and AURA share the vision of a hotel AI that covers all communication channels. Onsai has earned impressive accolades along the way, including the IHA Start-up Award 2025.
AURA already has more than twice as many hotels on board and offers significantly more PMS integrations — especially for systems widely used in the DACH region such as Ibelsa, Vioma and DIRS21. Both providers enable direct PMS bookings, but AURA also automatically distinguishes between a booking and a quote.
PMS integration: breadth and depth
Onsai supports Mews, Apaleo and Oracle Opera Cloud as PMS. AURA additionally integrates Ibelsa, Vioma, DIRS21, ASA, HNS and other systems that are widely used in the DACH region. With significantly more PMS integrations, AURA covers a broader system landscape.
Both providers enable direct bookings in the PMS during the call. On top of that, AURA offers an automatic booking-vs-quote classification: the AI recognises whether the guest wants to book immediately or first receive a quote — and acts accordingly.
Bootstrapped vs. VC-funded
An often overlooked difference: AURA is bootstrapped and profitable. According to publicly available information, Onsai has received VC funding.
For hotels as customers, this can be relevant: a profitable company offers a degree of long-term planning security that is independent of its funding structure.
What Onsai does well
Onsai relies on open-source AI models and offers an on-premise option, which can be interesting for data-sensitive hotels. The CHECK module for commission verification is an innovative approach that AURA does not offer in this form.
With strong investor backing (including the former CEO of Radisson) and the IHA Award, Onsai has a strong starting position in the market.
Frequently asked questions
Does Onsai also offer direct PMS booking?
Yes, Onsai also offers direct PMS booking via Mews, Apaleo and Oracle Opera Cloud. AURA's advantage lies in its broader PMS coverage (Ibelsa, Vioma, DIRS21, ASA and more) and the automatic distinction between booking and quote.
Why does Onsai not have public pricing?
To our knowledge, Onsai communicates pricing individually in a personal conversation. For hotels that want to compare quickly, this can be a disadvantage. AURA offers custom pricing after a short intro call.
Is Onsai's open-source approach an advantage?
Open-source AI models can be an advantage, especially in terms of transparency and independence. In practice, however, what matters most for hotels is the quality of the integration and the results — and here AURA has the longer track record with 150+ active hotels.
